Law firm Trilegal prepares to onboard legal professionals from SAM and JSA, two prominent Delhi-based dispute resolution firms.
Two prominent legal professionals, Anuj Berry and Vishrov Mukerjee, are set to join Trilegal in the coming months as partners in the firm's disputes practice. Berry and Mukerjee are specialists in dispute resolution and litigation, bringing over 15 years of professional experience each to the table.
Both Berry and Mukerjee have built a reputation for handling complex legal disputes, with a focus on litigation. Berry is notable for his work in trademark and intellectual property disputes, as demonstrated by his representation of plaintiffs in a high-profile case at the Delhi High Court involving Premji Invest. The case sought dynamic injunctions to prevent fraudulent use of trademarks and associated deceptive online activities.
Mukerjee, on the other hand, has a particular expertise in regulatory disputes, arbitration in the infrastructure sector, and complex commercial litigation involving changes in law, powers of regulatory commissions, and compensatory mechanisms for the cancellation of coal blocks. Mukerjee has spent time at JSA, first between 2007 and 2009, and then since 2012.
With the addition of Mukerjee, Trilegal will have 79 partners in total. Berry, who is joining from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, brings a wealth of experience in general commercial litigation, shareholder disputes, company law-related disputes, litigation concerning the Competition Act 2002, and white-collar defense. In 2021, Berry was selected by clients as one of the ALB Asia Super 50 Disputes Lawyers.
Trilegal's hiring of Berry and Mukerjee as partners in Delhi marks the firm's first partner lateral hires since adding four from AZB in Mumbai and Bengaluru in December last year. Both Berry and Mukerjee will be positioned as senior dispute resolution lawyers within Trilegal, focusing on commercial litigation and related contentious matters.
