Large-Scale Search Operation Rescues Lost 70-Year-Old Man in Königsforst

A large-scale search operation was launched in Königsforst on Saturday evening after a 70-year-old man called emergency services, reporting he was lost and feeling dizzy. The Bergisch Gladbach Fire Department, along with police support, worked tirelessly for approximately four hours to locate the man.

The search was challenging due to the dense forest and inaccurate phone location. Firefighters and police officers mainly conducted the search on foot and with vehicles. Additional resources were called in to assist, including a drone group and deployment forces from other fire stations. A police helicopter and a dog handler also supported the operation.

Communication was hindered by a language barrier, as the man was slightly chilled and weakened. Despite these difficulties, the search team remained responsive and determined. Eventually, a vehicle from Fire Station 10 discovered the man and transported him to a local hospital for further care.

The search operation concluded successfully after approximately four hours. The 70-year-old man was found safe and taken to hospital. The Bergisch Gladbach Fire Department, along with police support, demonstrated exceptional commitment and teamwork in ensuring the man's safe return.
