L&T Finance's Spoorthi program empowers women entrepreneurs with easier home loans
L&T Finance has introduced Spoorthi, a new lending program designed for women entrepreneurs. The scheme offers lower interest rates and relaxed eligibility criteria for Home Loans and Loan Against Property (LAP), making it easier for women to purchase property or expand their businesses at home. The initiative was first launched in March 2024 by the Andhra Pradesh government to empower women through self-help groups. By the end of Q3 2025, over 1,200 women in the state had already received financing under the program.
The Spoorthi program reduces the business vintage requirement to just two years for loans up to Rs. 75 Lakhs. Eligible applicants must hold at least a 50% stake in their business and serve as a key decision-maker, ensuring they have a significant home-based income. Their income should also account for 50% or more of the total appraised income.
Businesses must demonstrate an annual cash profit of Rs. 5 Lakhs or higher, based on the latest Income Tax Return. They should not have reported a net loss in the past two years. The program also allows higher debt-to-income ratios and extends loan tenors—up to 25 years for Home Loans and LAP, and up to 12 years for Industrial LAP.
L&T Finance's overall loan book grew to Rs. 28,682 Crore in Q3FY26, marking a 22% Year-on-Year and 5% Quarter-on-Quarter increase. The Home Loan and LAP segment alone saw disbursements of Rs. 2,879 Crore, up 16% Year-on-Year and 6% Quarter-on-Quarter. This growth has been driven by stronger distribution networks and new partnerships.
The Spoorthi program provides women entrepreneurs with easier access to financing for property and business needs at home. With extended tenors and reduced rates, it aims to boost financial inclusion. L&T Finance continues to expand its lending portfolio, reflecting strong demand in the Home Loan and LAP segments.
