Kuwait Proposes Tougher Fines to Combat Littering Surge

Kuwait is grappling with a surge in littering and waste dumping across public spaces, prompting the municipality to call for tougher penalties. Mohammed Al-Sindan, the municipality's spokesperson, has proposed fines akin to those for traffic, electricity, and environmental law violations.

The municipality has witnessed a sharp increase in waste disposal outside designated areas, leading to hygiene concerns. To combat this, Kuwait City's regulatory authorities have announced fines ranging from 100 to 500 Kuwaiti Dinars for cleanliness violations. Enforcing stricter penalties is expected to deter littering in roads, open areas, parks, beaches, and markets, thereby preserving Kuwait's urban and environmental hygiene.

Kuwait Municipality has urged stricter penalties for public cleanliness violations. The proposed fines aim to discourage waste dumping and maintain the country's cleanliness and hygiene standards.
