Krasnodar and Kazakhstan forge stronger trade ties with new business initiatives
Krasnodar Territory is set to strengthen trade ties with Kazakhstan through new business initiatives. The region, known for its strong agribusiness sector, will showcase its products at two major exhibitions in Almaty. Officials from both sides have expressed enthusiasm for deeper economic cooperation. Trade between Krasnodar Territory and Kazakhstan has already reached nearly $270 million in 2025. Kuban's agricultural goods and fertilisers are among the products currently exported to the neighbouring country. The region also boasts over 40 enterprises specialising in machinery, railcar manufacturing, and food processing equipment.
Governor Veniamin Kondratyev has highlighted the importance of expanding business contacts. He proposed organising dedicated missions to introduce Kuban products to the Kazakh market. Kanat Khassenov, Kazakhstan's Consul General, supported the idea and invited Russian entrepreneurs to attend YugAgro, a key agricultural exhibition.
To further promote cooperation, Krasnodar Territory will participate in KazBuild and FoodExpo Kazakhstan in Almaty. These events will provide a platform to display the region's industrial and agricultural capabilities. Both sides aim to build on their long-standing friendly relations to create better conditions for trade and investment. The planned business missions and exhibition appearances mark a clear step toward deeper economic engagement. Kuban's expanded product range and industrial expertise position it well for growth in the Kazakh market. Officials from both regions are now working to turn these proposals into concrete partnerships.
