Kishoreganj keeps essential goods affordable during Ramadan with TCB trucks

The price of essential goods in Kishoreganj has remained stable during Ramadan. Authorities have taken steps to prevent sudden price hikes and ensure affordability for low-income families. Five mobile trucks are now selling Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) products at fair rates across the town.

At the start of Ramadan, some essential items saw a slight increase in cost. However, prices have since returned to normal levels, including at Bhairab Bazar. The government has kept adequate TCB stocks to stabilize the stock market and prevent shortages.

To support residents, five TCB trucks are operating in different parts of Kishoreganj. These vehicles sell daily necessities at discounted rates, helping those on lower incomes. Market monitoring has also been stepped up to stop unfair price rises by unscrupulous traders.

By mid-Ramadan, local authorities had carried out 47 official inspections of food markets. These checks aimed to ensure compliance with pricing rules and maintain stability throughout the holy month.

The combined efforts of stock management, mobile sales, and market inspections have kept prices steady. Residents in Kishoreganj can now buy essential goods without facing unexpected cost surges. Regular monitoring will continue until the end of Ramadan to sustain this stability.
