Kia's K4 petrol hatchback will be introduced in the UK market in the year 2025, according to an official announcement.

Kia Introduces the K4 Hatchback to the UK Market

Kia is set to bring a new addition to the UK market with the arrival of the K4 hatchback, replacing the axed Ceed. The K4 is set to hit showrooms by the end of this year, and it will be built in Mexico, marking a shift from Kia's Slovakian plant which now produces the electric EV4 hatchback.

The K4 will initially be offered with a choice of turbocharged 1.0-litre and 1.6-litre petrol engines. The entry-level 1.0-litre engine produces 113bhp and can be paired with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The 1.6-litre engine will be paired exclusively with the seven-speed auto.

The interior design of the K4 draws heavily on the electric Kia EV4, featuring two integrated 12.3in screens for instrumentation and infotainment. Unlike the Ceed, the K4 will offer generous head room due to a high roofline and maximized rear legroom, making it a comfortable choice for passengers. Boot space measures 438 litres.

In terms of technology, the K4 comes equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity as standard. The dashboard also features physical switches for key functions such as climate control, audio volume, and hazard lights.

Prices for the Kia K4 have yet to be confirmed, but the entry-level model is expected to sit somewhere between the prices of the Xceed and the Volkswagen Golf, which starts at £28,150. The Xceed crossover, the last surviving variant of the Ceed, currently costs £25,165.

An additional hybrid powertrain for the K4 will be available next year, further expanding the model's appeal. The K4's arrival in the UK marks an exciting time for Kia, as they continue to expand their lineup and push the boundaries of what a hatchback can be. Stay tuned for more updates on the Kia K4.
