Kestenholz Group acquires Mercedes-Benz dealership in Aachen, expanding to 24 German sites
The Kestenholz Group has taken over the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Aachen, expanding its German network to 24 locations. The acquisition, effective November 1, 2026, merges the stability of a large corporate group with the values of a family-run business. All employees at the Aachen site will keep their jobs under the new ownership.
Founded in 1952, the Kestenholz Group has partnered with Mercedes for over 70 years and has operated in Germany since 1998. The Aachen dealership, with roots dating back to 1912, now features modern facilities, including a flagship showroom. This takeover follows a string of recent expansions, such as Lhys & Gondert (Koblenz, 2022), Auto-Weber (Freiburg, 2023), and Auto Bähr (Ludwigshafen, 2025).
With the Aachen addition, the group's workforce grows to around 1,650 employees across 24 sites. Annual revenue currently stands at approximately €750 million. Leadership, including CEO Thomas Kestenholz and Managing Director Daniel Kestenholz, focuses on geographic growth, infrastructure upgrades, and digital transformation. The dealership's long history and modern setup align with the group's strategy of blending corporate security with family-business principles. Previous acquisitions, like the Falter Group (2023) and Johan Wedig (Frankenthal, 2025), reflect this approach.
The Aachen takeover strengthens the Kestenholz Group's presence in Germany, bringing its total to 24 Mercedes-Benz locations. Job security for existing staff remains unchanged, and the group's revenue and workforce continue to grow. The move reinforces the company's commitment to expansion while maintaining its core values.
