Karl's expansive strawberry farm project in the United States is progressing, taking form as a mega undertaking
In an exciting development for fans of Karls Chain, the strawberry-focused company based in Rostock, Germany, has announced plans to expand its operations both in Europe and the USA.
Robert Dahl, CEO of Karls Chain, has been at the forefront of these ambitious plans. During a recent committee meeting in Calabasas, north of Los Angeles, Dahl sent his architect to discuss the proposed construction of an experience village. This move marks Karls Chain's intention to establish a presence in the USA, following in the footsteps of its seven existing experience villages across Europe.
One of the key projects in the pipeline is the next Karls Strawberry Village, scheduled to open in Oberhausen, Ruhr area, in summer 2026. The village will feature a tractor, a caterpillar track, a potato sack slide, playgrounds, a bakery, and a jam factory, providing a unique and immersive experience for visitors.
In addition to the Oberhausen project, Dahl also revealed plans for a new park, details of which will be discussed further in an upcoming episode of his "PodKarls".
The company aims to create about 100 jobs in the new parks, offering employment opportunities for both local residents and employees from Germany who may have the chance to work in the USA. Moreover, annual passes for the parks will be valid both in Europe and the USA, allowing fans to enjoy the Karls experience across continents.
The environmental committee representing interests in Oberhausen unanimously agreed on the project, paving the way for the building department to issue the building permit. Meanwhile, the former brewery site is currently being demolished to make way for the new park.
Robert Dahl, who joined the meeting via Zoom from his bathroom due to the time difference, found the proceedings very moving. He also shared that he had done an hour of exercise during the meeting to keep his energy levels high.
As part of its expansion, Karls Chain also plans to open a strawberry village in Los Angeles, California, in preparation for the 2028 Olympics. This move will further solidify the company's presence in the USA and capitalize on the global event.
Oxnard, California, known as the world's strawberry capital due to its significant strawberry-growing region, will likely benefit from these developments.
In other news, no prior information was provided about Opa Karl or any Nazi revelations, as speculated by some media outlets.
Lastly, Karls App has introduced a new ordering function to reduce waiting times, ensuring a smoother and more convenient experience for its users.
