Kamchatka's New Greenhouse Brings Premium Local Produce
Kamchatka residents can now enjoy a wider variety of locally grown cucumbers and tomatoes. The new greenhouse complex has started producing and selling more expensive varieties, such as cherry tomatoes, plum tomatoes, and short cucumbers. These will be available alongside the locally grown 'Meva' cucumbers, which are priced up to 330 rubles.
The company 'Kamchatsky Greenhouse' has taken over the sale of these products in AO 'Pioneer' stores across Kamchatka. Notably, the 'Meva' cucumbers and 'Merlis' tomatoes are sold without markup, ensuring customers get the best price. While these varieties are mainly ordered by restaurants and for special occasions due to lower production volumes, plans are underway to sell medium-sized 'Merlis' tomatoes for up to 350 rubles. Other points of sale in Kamchatka will have a network markup that covers transportation costs and staff wages.
The introduction of these new varieties and the locally grown produce marks a significant step in diversifying Kamchatka's agricultural market. It not only provides residents with fresh, local options but also supports local businesses and agriculture.
