John Peter Ben Wang assumes role as independent, non-executive director at Melco.
In a recent shake-up, John Peter Ben Wang, a seasoned finance whiz with decades of experience under his belt, has bagged the coveted position of independent non-executive director at Melco Resorts and Entertainment Limited.
This major Asia and Europe integrated resort developer company announced this strategic senior-level appointment last Friday. Welcoming an expert of such caliber to its C-suite, Melco is thrilled to have Wang on board, our website News learned from a press release.
As a cherry on top, Wang has been tasked with a handful of crucial roles within Melco. Apart from the independent non-executive director position, he will also serve as chairman of the company's audit and risk committee and a member of its corporate governance and compensation committees. Notably, Melco's board has recognized Wang's exceptional skills in finance, awarding him the esteemed title of "audit committee financial expert."
This high- flying executive with a degree in accounting from the University of Kent at Canterbury boasts a solid background in finance and accounting. Qualifying as a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1985, Wang has gained a reputation for his financial acumen over the years.
In the past, he played a significant role in Melco, serving as a director from November 2006 to August 2016. Between 2011 and 2019, he held the post of Deputy Chairman and Executive Director at Summit Ascent Holdings Limited, a Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed company. From 2004 to 2009, Wang served as Melco International Development Limited's chief financial officer.
