International company Bisleri launches revamped pond and plantation initiative to foster biodiversity in Abupur Village's park, Ghaziabad.
In a commendable initiative, Bisleri International, one of India's largest premium beverage businesses, has launched a rejuvenated pond and plantation drive to develop a Biodiversity Park at Abupur Village, Ghaziabad. This project is part of Bisleri's flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, "Bisleri Greener Promise," which focuses on environmental sustainability.
The rejuvenated pond aims to revive local ecosystems while fostering sustainable community participation. The Biodiversity Park, developed around the greenery belt of the pond area, is home to a variety of plant species such as Amaltas, Bael, Arjun, Bahera, Kadam, Jamun, Pipal, Bottle Brush, Boughen villa, Khus grass, and more.
The inauguration of the Abupur pond and Biodiversity Park was attended by dignitaries including Shri Vidya Kumar Bhushan, Retd. IFS, Former PCCF & HOFF, Punjab; Smt. Shweta Pawar, Gram Pradhan, Abupur Village; Shri Ashish Jain, Director, Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA); and Mr. K. Ganesh, Director - Sustainability & Corporate Affairs, Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd.
Mr. Vidya Bhushan Kumar remarked that flourishing ecosystems are the foundation for thriving communities. Mr. K. Ganesh stated that Bisleri's aim is to create a lasting positive impact by conserving water, promoting biodiversity, and encouraging responsible plastic management.
Bisleri's support includes a door-to-door plastic waste collection program in collaboration with NGO, IPCA. This initiative aims to ensure the longevity of the park's biodiversity and improve waste management in the village.
