Breaking: Illegally Established Ice Bridge Shuts Down Tevrizsky Region

The Tevrizsky district's authorities warned of its recent closure, citing an unlawful ice passage found across the Irtysh river.

On Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, the Omsk Transport Prosecutor's Office revealed the improper ice crossing in Tevrizsky district, located near the village of Kuznetzovo, Tevrizsky municipal district, Omsk region. The unauthorized iceway, which wasn't sanctioned according to legal procedures, was discovered during routine inspections.

"During our investigations, we found an ice crossing over the Irtysh river in the Tevrizsky district, which was not brought into operation in compliance with the law. Proper control over the movement of vehicles and pedestrians by authorized agencies was not executed," the office reported.

The Transport Prosecutor's Office filed a report with the Tevrizsky district's administration, demanding the resolution of the legal infringement.

It's worth noting that Tevrizsky district had an official ice crossing, linking the settlements of Tevriz and Kuznetzovo, known as the Beloyarsky ice crossing. Operational in the winter, its features are as follows:

  • Load capacity: 20 tons
  • Length: 275 meters
  • Width: 30 meters
  • Ice thickness: 36 centimeters
  • Passing capacity: 3 vehicles per hour.

In Omsk region, nine official ice crossings have already been closed due to warming temperatures.
