Illegal Workers Found at Fürstenwalde Construction Site; Operator Under Investigation
On 13.08.2025, the Main Customs Office Frankfurt (Oder) conducted an inspection at a construction site in Fürstenwalde. The aim was to ensure proper employee registration, prevent social benefit fraud, and check residence and work permits, as well as minimum wage compliance. The inspection led to several serious findings.
During the inspection, three Brazilian nationals attempted to evade the authorities by fleeing. However, they were unsuccessful and were found to be working illegally in Germany without proper authorization. This led to the initiation of criminal proceedings against them for suspected illegal residence.
Separately, administrative offense proceedings were opened for illegal employment. While the operator of the construction project in Fürstenwalde was investigated, the search results did not explicitly name the operator. The investigation involved a separate case of a drywall company owner from Nürnberg convicted for illegal employment, but no direct link or operator name for the Fürstenwalde project was provided.
The inspection at the Fürstenwalde construction site uncovered illegal employment practices. Three individuals face criminal proceedings for illegal residence, and administrative offense proceedings have been opened for illegal employment. The investigation into the construction project's operator continues.
