IGT Overcomes Legal Dispute with Acres
IGT Squashes Legal Feud with Acres
International Game Technology (IGT) recently declared victory in its legal spat with rival company Acres. The two gaming giants have settled their differences, according to IGT, aligning all previous legal disputes.
This resolution took place within the confines of the United States District Court of Nevada. The conflict arose from allegations that Acres violated several IGT patents, specifically in regards to their Foundation casino management system. This system provides casino partners with cashless solutions for their brick-and-mortar establishments.
IGT claims that Acres' Foundation product trampled on four of its 200 patented innovations.
The law battle oscillated for several months until both parties came to a consensus, putting the patent dispute to rest.
Moving Forward
Nick Khin, IGT's chief operating officer of gaming, expressed satisfaction with the settlement. In his words, the resolution will enable both businesses to concentrate on more significant matters.
"We're delighted to put this disagreement to bed and focus on mutually beneficial ventures in the rapidly advancing cashless gaming sector," Khin stated.
Acres' CEO, John Acres, applauded IGT for collaborating in reaching an amicable solution.
"We're ecstatic to bury the hatchet with IGT and jointly create thrilling gambling experiences that elevate player enjoyment and boost casino profits," Acres commented.
Meanwhile, IGT has undergone a series of leadership changes. The new appointments came after the release of its financial results, which revealed that the company had attained its FY 2023 objectives.
Recently, a study by Acres sheds light on the role of advantage players in casino loyalty programs.
Despite the lack of detailed information available about the patent dispute resolution, court records from the United States District Court for the District of Nevada or specialized legal databases covering patent litigation may provide further insights into the matter.
"This settlement allows International Game Technology (IGT) and Acres to channel their efforts towards more significant matters in the cashless gaming sector, as stated by IGT's COO of gaming, Nick Khin."
"Acres' CEO, John Acres, welcomed the amicable resolution, expressing excitement about collaborating with IGT to create engaging gambling experiences that enhance player satisfaction and boost casino profits."
