IEEKN to Create 300+ Business Networks by 2025, Aiming to Save 11TWh Energy & 6M Tonnes Emissions

The Initiative for Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection Networks (IEEKN) is set to create 300 to 350 new business networks by the end of 2025. This comes as serial retrofits become more cost-effective and predictable, with costs dropping by a third and speed doubling.

The IEEKN project office aims to initiate these networks between 2021 and 2025. The initiative focuses on energy efficiency, regulatory frameworks, industrial transformation, and economic transition. These networks are expected to save 9 to 11 terawatt-hours of final energy and 5 to 6 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions.

Retrofitting in homeowners’ associations presents unique challenges, but successful strategies have been demonstrated. A successful smart meter deployment in Germany requires careful planning and consideration of key factors.

The IEEKN initiative is set to have a significant impact on energy efficiency and climate protection. Key events include the 'Initiative for Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection Networks' event on November 20, 2025, and the annual conference of the Climate-Neutral Building Forum on November 25, 2025.
