Hyundai Staria 1.6 T-GDI Hybrid: Even more comfortable with the new hybrid powertrain
Hyundai has unveiled the Staria Hybrid, a spacious and tech-packed people carrier set for a 2025 launch. The new model replaces the diesel engine with a quieter, more refined hybrid system. Priced under €60,000, it offers luxury features at nearly half the cost of rivals like the Mercedes V-Class.
Development of the Staria Hybrid began in 2024, with extensive testing in South Korea. Engineers focused on road performance and comfort, leading to a vehicle that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 167 km/h.
The 1.6-litre T-GDI full hybrid engine delivers a smoother, quieter drive compared to diesel alternatives. This powertrain works alongside a multi-link rear suspension, which reduces unsprung mass and absorbs bumps for a more comfortable ride. Inside, the Staria’s design draws inspiration from NASA technology. The second-row seats recline into a zero-gravity position and come with heating, ventilation, and electric adjustments. The cabin also features a velvety microfiber headliner, large panoramic windows, and an optional Nappa leather trim. The top-tier Signature model includes an 'all-inclusive' package with a Bose sound system, electric sliding doors, and advanced driver-assistance features. Hyundai has positioned the Staria as a premium yet affordable alternative to luxury competitors.
The Staria Hybrid arrives in early 2025 with a blend of advanced engineering and high-end comfort. Its hybrid system, NASA-inspired seating, and competitive pricing aim to challenge established players in the people carrier market. The model’s smooth ride and luxury features make it a standout option for families and businesses alike.
