Hulk Hogan Launches New Brewery Brand with Ambition to Boost Hooters Post-Bankruptcy

Firing Up a Resurgence

Hulk Hogan might just breathe new life into iconic venues, one pint at a time.

In a money-saving move, the iconic Hooters filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year. But going under seemed like an unlikely option.

According to reports, the restaurant secured a restructuring support agreement (RSA) with backing from most key stakeholders back in March[1]. Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection allows businesses to reorganize their debt while they continue to operate.

So here comes Hulk Hogan's "Real American Beer." The wrestling legend's brewery has planned an all-cash bid for the Hooters intellectual property[2].

This move reflects Real American Brands' mission to acquire well-established brands that resonate with their vision to establish an all-American lifestyle platform—part entertainment, part patriotism[1][3].

Pending approval, the brand is set to revive Hooters via consumer products, digital content, gaming, and experiential events. The aim is to rejuvenate the brand for today's generations[3][4].

Hooters, Hogan's hometown favorite in Clearwater, Fla., was one of the first venues to carry the Real American Beer after its launch[5].

Despite the financial wobbles, Hooters remains operational[4]. Restaurant CEO Sal Melilli had this to say at the time: "Today’s announcement marks an important step in reinforcing Hooters' financial foundation and continuing to deliver the exceptional hospitality experience our customers and communities have come to expect."

Remember the revamped Hooters on Kirby, post the 2013 grand re-opening[6]? Such continued efforts to uphold the brand image demonstrate that the brand is definitely here to stay.

The Real American Beer brand, which recently graced the shelves of Walmart outlets in eight states[5], is not only the official beer of WWE but also the second most preferred light beer, surpassed only by Samuel Adams[7]. Its name pays homage to Hulk Hogan's iconic entrance theme, “Real American.”
