Hunting Castle Spiegelsberge to Become Event Venue - Historic Spiegelsberge Lodge to Become Event Venue After €1.3M Renovation
A historic hunting lodge in Halberstadt, Spiegelsberge, is set for a new lease of life. Built in 1782 by Ernst Ludwig Spiegel, the lodge will undergo a €1.3 million renovation to transform it into an event venue. The project is scheduled to complete by September 2024.
Originally constructed in the Renaissance and Baroque styles, the lodge served as a hunting retreat and later as an inn. The upcoming renovation marks the second time the listed building has been restored. In the past, from 2012 to 2015, a comprehensive restoration was carried out by the Stuttgart-based engineering and architectural firm Lederer + Lorenz. Alexander Lorenz, from the same firm, led the project, ensuring the work was in line with conservation standards. The upcoming renovation will see the lodge host conferences, banquets, and celebrations.
The €1.3 million renovation of the historic Spiegelsberge hunting lodge is set to conclude in September 2024. Once complete, the venue will offer a unique setting for events, attracting visitors to Halberstadt and contributing to the local economy.
