Hallertau Unveils 'Digital Experience' for Tourists and Locals

The Hallertau region is set to enhance its tourism experience with a new project, 'The Digital Hallertau Experience'. This LEADER-funded initiative, approved on June 12, 2025, aims to create four digital audio tours accessible via smartphone. The project is a collaborative effort involving four local action groups (LAGs) and is supported by €30,432 from the European funding program LEADER.

The audio tours will include digital city tours for Wolnzach and Mainburg, and digital bike tours from Rudelzhausen to Freising and through the ILE Holledauer Tor area. These tours will highlight the region's culture, tradition, history, and hop cultivation, benefiting both residents and tourists. The project is a cooperative effort involving Landkreis Kelheim e.V., Landkreis Landshut e.V., Mittlere Isarregion e.V., and Landkreis Pfaffenhofen a.d.Ilm e.V.

The project's approval was officially presented by Agnes Stiglmaier, LEADER coordinator, and Tina Schuler, lead LAG manager, to Carolin Meinhold, project leader of Hopfenland Hallertau Tourism e.V. The project aims to create a unique digital experience, showcasing the best of the Hallertau region.

With the support of the LEADER program and local action groups, 'The Digital Hallertau Experience' is set to transform the region's tourism landscape. The audio tours, focusing on culture, history, and hop cultivation, are expected to attract more visitors and engage residents, all while preserving and promoting the region's unique heritage.
