Goslar boosts doctor recruitment and road safety amid bird flu concerns
Goslar district’s Committee for Public Order, Emergency Services, Health, and Consumer Protection has addressed several pressing issues in a recent meeting. Among the key decisions, extra funding was approved to attract physicians and improve road safety. The discussions also touched on the ongoing threat of avian influenza in the region.
The committee agreed to inject an additional €100,000 into the district’s physician attraction programme. This move follows the success of the initiative, which has already allocated €312,500 to support seven new doctor positions. However, with four more funding requests totalling €175,000 pending, the original 2025 budget of €200,000 had already run out.
The extra funding for physicians will help address shortages in Goslar district, though demand still outstrips the available budget. The new speed camera aims to reduce accidents on the B4, while vigilance remains high against bird flu. These measures reflect ongoing efforts to strengthen local services and public safety.
