Globe Telecom Marks 50 Years as Public Company, Vows to Bridge Digital Divides

Globe Telecom, a leading digital solutions platform in the Philippines, celebrated its 50th anniversary as a publicly listed company. The milestone was marked with a ceremonial bell ringing at the Philippine Stock Exchange trading floor, attended by notable figures including Ayala Corporation Chairman Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala and Globe President and CEO Carl Raymond R. Cruz.

Globe's evolution from a telecommunications provider to a digital solutions platform was highlighted at the event. The company reaffirmed its vision to be the Philippines' foremost digital solutions platform, leveraging technology to uplift lives. Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala reflected on Globe's journey, stating that its listing in 1975 was 'a statement of belief' in moving the country forward.

Collaboration remains central to Globe's strategy. Multi-sectoral partnerships, such as its joint venture with Singtel through the Ayala Corporation, drive sustainable growth and bridge digital divides. The Ayala Corporation, a significant Philippine conglomerate, holds a considerable minority stake in Globe, enabling the company to focus on providing mobile and broadband services while receiving strategic support and resources. Both companies continue to invest in latest technologies and infrastructures to advance the digital transformation in the Philippines.

Globe views its 50th anniversary as a shared achievement with its millions of customers. The company aims to ensure digital progress reaches every Filipino, regardless of geography or socioeconomic status. As it looks ahead, Globe remains committed to its mission of providing quality telecommunications services and driving digital innovation in the Philippines.
