Global Meetup Confirmed for WTTC's 24th International Seminar in Western Australia's Perth City
World Travel and Tourism Council's 24th Global Summit to Take Place in Perth, Australia
The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) is set to host its 24th Global Summit in Perth, Western Australia from October 8-10, 2025. The theme of the summit, "Ancient Land: New Perspectives," will highlight Australia's rich cultural heritage and natural wonders, while emphasizing innovation and sustainable growth.
The summit will bring together many of the world's most powerful leaders in the travel and tourism sector to discuss and secure its long-term future. Notable speakers at the event include Julia Simpson, the WTTC President & CEO, and Greg O'Hara, who will be present at the summit and is passing the torch as WTTC Chair to Manfredi Lefebvre.
The Hon. Roger Cook MLA will open the Global Summit on October 9. John Kerry, the 68th U.S. Secretary of State, and Robert Irwin, a conservationist and TV personality, will also speak at the event. Irwin is expected to share stories from his adventures and discuss the role of travel and tourism in protecting and celebrating nature.
The Global Summit will feature a new addition: the Investors' Nest. In this Shark Tank-style format, university students will pitch their ideas for sustainable tourism to Travel & Tourism investors. The winner of the competition will be announced during the Global Summit.
Official government delegations from more than 25 countries, including several G20 economies, will be in attendance at the Global Summit. During his speech, Secretary Kerry will share insights on navigating the international political landscape, forging alliances, and facilitating international cooperation.
The summit will showcase a diverse lineup of speakers, although the most recent detailed speaker list is for the 2025 WTTC Global Summit held in Rome, Italy. Notable speakers in Rome included Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Indian Hotels Company, Julie Shainock, Global Managing Director - Travel, Transport & Hospitality Industry at Microsoft, and Daniela Santanchè, Minister of Tourism for Italy. For the Perth summit, the detailed speaker lineup is not yet available, but updates will be provided as they become available on the official WTTC website or through recent event announcements.
