Global Gathering scheduled for March 21' in Cancun, aiming to rejuvenate Travel and Tourism industries globally, under the auspices of the World Travel & Tourism Council.
The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is set to host the 2021 WTTC Global Summit in Cancun, Mexico, from 23-25 March. The event, which was delayed from Spring 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will provide a platform for the highest industry leaders and key government representatives to discuss and take action on the recovery of the Travel & Tourism sector.
The summit will be a hybrid of physical and virtual participation, with limited on-site attendance and up to 20,000 online free registrations. Gloria Guevara, President & CEO of WTTC, and Carlos Joaquin Gonzalez, Governor of Quintana Roo, have announced the event. The Global Summit will take place at The Moon Palace Convention Centre in Cancun.
WTTC has been at the forefront of international efforts to save the Travel & Tourism sector, which has been severely impacted by COVID-19. The organisation will announce its major new initiatives for 2021 during the Summit. The event aims to learn from the challenges of the pandemic and showcase how to adapt to COVID-19 for the recovery of the sector.
The summit will establish a consensus on international cooperation and coordination to accelerate the recovery of the Travel & Tourism sector. WTTC has offered to work closely with the new incoming US administration to recover international travel. The event will follow the latest leading hygiene and safety protocols to ensure participant health.
