German couple loses life savings in cruel stock market scam

A married couple from Hennigsdorf fell victim to an online scam after trying to invest in the stock market. They lost a large sum of money after being tricked into transferring funds to an unknown account. Despite freezing their bank account, the money could not be recovered. The couple initially sought stock market profits through a website. An unknown person contacted them, offering help with investments. Trusting the offer, they allowed the individual remote access to their computer.

The scammer then persuaded them to transfer a five-figure sum to an unfamiliar bank account. Only after the transfer did the couple realise they had been deceived. They immediately froze their account but found it impossible to retrieve the lost funds.

The incident left the couple with significant financial losses. Authorities have not yet identified the scammer. Police continue to warn the public about similar investment fraud schemes.
