Geregu Power's Q3 Profit Surges 82% on Strong Energy Sales
Geregu Power Plc has announced impressive financial results for the third quarter of 2025. The company's pre-tax profit surged by 82.47% year-on-year to N11.151 billion, driven by a 37.38% increase in revenue to N43.834 billion.
The power company's robust performance can be attributed to a significant rise in energy sales, which accounted for over 65% of total revenue. Energy sales increased by 39.7% to N28.76 billion in Q3 2025. Additionally, capacity charges grew strongly by 33% to N15.1 billion during the same period.
Profit from core operations also saw a substantial increase of 89.98% to N12.546 billion in Q3 2025. The company's total assets grew to N273.152 billion by September 2025, up from N243.470 billion in December 2024. Trade receivables accounted for over 62% of the asset base, while property, plant, and equipment made up 24.2% of total assets.
Geregu Power Plc's nine-month pre-tax profit stood at N37.462 billion, up 3.31% from the same period in 2024. Revenue for the nine months reached N131.467 billion, about 96% of the 2024 full-year total. Shareholders' funds were N56.413 billion, with about 98% coming from retained earnings. Despite gas supply and transportation costs consuming over 65% of revenue in Q3 2025, leading to a 53% YoY increase in the cost of sales to N28.58 billion, Geregu Power Plc continues to demonstrate strong financial performance.
