GEE Launches New Business Line for Connected Aircraft Solutions
Global Eagle Entertainment (GEE) is expanding its operations with a new business line, GEE Operations Solutions. This new venture will offer a comprehensive connected aircraft solution for airlines, working with any inflight connectivity system, and aiming to enhance operations, reduce costs, and improve passenger experience.
The new GEE Operations Solutions line is the result of GEE's acquisition of two prominent companies in the industry: masFlight and navAero. Josh Marks, founder and CEO of masFlight, will lead this new business line. masFlight specializes in creating usable operational data and real-time tools for pilots and airline operations centers, while navAero excels in hardware integration for EFB and cockpit connectivity systems.
The new line will build on the strengths of both companies. It will work seamlessly with any inflight connectivity system, not just GEE's own, adding incremental value for existing GEE connectivity customers. The ultimate goal is to be the first to market with a complete connected aircraft solution for airlines, supporting real-time decision making using avionics data transmitted to the ground via connectivity.
