Galaxy S25 Edge Detailed Specifications Revealed by Samsung Documents

The slender Galaxy S25 Edge, aimed at fashion-focused consumers, has leaked to international regulatory bodies, suggesting imminent release.

Galaxy S25 Edge Detailed Specifications Revealed by Samsung Documents

Samsung unveiled three Galaxy S25 devices at the initial Galaxy Unpacked event of the year: the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. They also hinted at a fourth, the Galaxy S25 Edge, designed to be the thinnest Galaxy S phone yet, but its release date remains unknown. With additional details from regulatory filings, let's delve deeper into the S25 Edge.

The Galaxy S25 Edge Uncovered

Right after the Galaxy Unpacked event in January, the S25 Edge appeared in the database of forthcoming products managed by the Chinese regulator. The specs revealed a 3,786 mAh battery (expected to be listed as 3,900 mAh in consumer spec sheets). As many devices come in both Chinese and global variants, this isn't definitive evidence.

However, we now have another regulatory filing thanks to Denmark's National Certification Body, UL Solutions, which also lists the S25 Edge battery size at 3,786 mAh. Assuming this is the final specification, Samsung is taking a daring move, since flagship smartphones mostly target the 5,000 mAh mark. In fact, the S25 Ultra boasts a 5,000 mAh battery. For the S25 and S25+, the batteries are 4,000 mAh and 4,900 mAh respectively.

S25 Edge's Impact

With an emphasis on physical design to create a fashion-forward appearance, the S25 Edge sacrifices some internal volume compared to the S25 Ultra. Based on the mentioned battery size, it's likely to have less capacity than the vanilla Galaxy S25.

The question remains if the market will accept this compromise. While fashion-focused phones appeal to a niche segment, most users will find regular phones more than sufficient. For those drawn to the exclusivity of the S25 Edge, it could be one of its main selling points.

Indications suggest a limited release for this handset, potentially only available in South Korea, in a small order of tens of thousands.
