Future of St. Pölten's Large Vacant Properties Under Discussion
The future of two large, empty properties in St. Pölten is under discussion. The former central warehouse of Leiner and the Kika headquarters have been vacant since the furniture chain's bankruptcy. The city magistrate has been in talks with potential buyers and tenants, with some progress made.
Michael Miksch, a commercial real estate agent, has been hired to find suitable uses for both properties. He is optimistic about the former Kika headquarters, hoping to reach a conclusion by May. Several interested parties have been identified for each property.
Supermarket giant Spar has shown interest in the former Leiner central warehouse. The property, with 10,000 cubic meters of space, is strategically located near Spar's existing logistics center. The OVP St. Pölten proposed that the Rewe Group could use this real estate, but the group has not commented on this proposal.
The Supernova Group, which owns the properties, is looking for new tenants or buyers for 17 branches across Austria. The marketing process for the sale or long-term rental of the relevant objects is ongoing and expected to take several months.
The search for new tenants or buyers for the former Leiner central warehouse and Kika headquarters in St. Pölten continues. While progress has been made, no definitive agreements have been announced.
