French Businessman Secures One-Bedroom Property in Business Bay for Dh200,000 Below Market Rate

Laurie Fersing, a French entrepreneur, has found her dream home in the heart of Dubai's Business Bay. The vibrant and modern area, known for its modern infrastructure and proximity to key business and leisure hubs, was an appealing choice for Fersing, who moved to Dubai in February 2020 and made her first property investment in the area just a month later.

Fersing's current residence, a one-bedroom apartment in Churchill Towers, was not just a lucky find but a strategic decision. She purchased the apartment for Dh200,000 below the market price, making it a distress deal. The location, offering easy access to various amenities and being close to her work, played a significant role in her decision.

The apartment, spanning 986 square feet, boasts a modern, clean, and secure layout with one bedroom, one bathroom, a large kitchen, a living room, and a balcony. Fersing, who values her personal space, made the apartment her own through renovations. The renovations included modernising the apartment by changing colours and making it more white, changing the countertops in the kitchen and bathroom, and renovating her bedroom to have a hotel-style bed.

The apartment's desirable view, including the canal and the Burj Khalifa, is another highlight. Fersing chose Churchill Towers for its elevated floor and the potential for renovation, factors that were instrumental in making her decision.

Fersing's investment strategy extends beyond her current apartment. She has already made a profit from her first property investment in Dubai, which she sold after 18 months, and used it to buy another one-bedroom apartment in Churchill Towers. She plans to keep both her current apartment and the new apartment she bought off-plan, and rent the one she is not using.

Fersing's interior design style is minimalist, featuring all white and brown with rattan accents. Her long-term investment plans include moving into a "dream home" in 2026, suggesting that her current apartment serves as a temporary residence until then.

Churchill Towers offers a range of facilities, including a renovated gym, a pool under renovation, a kids' area, a sports court, and a supermarket downstairs, adding to its appeal for residents like Fersing. With her strategic approach to property investment and her eye for a good deal, it's clear that Laurie Fersing is making the most of her time in Dubai.
