Frankfurter Rundschau Names Sabrina Hoffmann as New Editor-in-Chief
The 'Frankfurter Rundschau' has appointed Sabrina Hoffmann as its new editor-in-chief, effective immediately. She succeeds Karin Dalka, who will retire on January 1, 2026, after leading the newspaper alongside Michael Bayer on an interim basis since February 2024. Bayer will remain with the newspaper as deputy editor-in-chief.
Hoffmann brings a strong, left-liberal voice to the network, having previously led the BW24 editorial team in Stuttgart to profitability in just nine months. She has consistently combined quality journalism with reach throughout her career, including her tenure as editor-in-chief of BuzzFeed. Before that, she worked for Vox Media. Hoffmann's appointment has been welcomed by Markus Knall, editor-in-chief of Ippen.Media, who is delighted with her new role at the 'Frankfurter Rundschau'. Hoffmann herself identifies strongly with the newspaper and its values, making her a fitting successor to Dalka.
With Karin Dalka's retirement approaching, the 'Frankfurter Rundschau' has found a capable successor in Sabrina Hoffmann. Hoffmann's appointment, along with Michael Bayer's continued service as deputy editor-in-chief, ensures stability and continuity for the newspaper as it moves forward.
