Football club Chelsea FC secures extensive partnership with athletic apparel brand Nike for forthcoming seasons
Chelsea Announces Long-Term Partnership with Nike
Chelsea Football Club has announced a significant commercial agreement with Nike, marking a new era for the club. Starting next year, Nike will produce strips for Chelsea's first team, academy, ladies teams, and a full range of clothing for supporters worldwide.
This deal, which is the largest commercial agreement in Chelsea's history, comes as the club's current kit producer, Adidas, ended its deal with Chelsea earlier than originally agreed. Adidas had been paying Chelsea an estimated 30 million pounds ($43.38 million) per year.
Interestingly, Adidas previously agreed to pay 750 million pounds ($1.1 billion) to become Manchester United's sponsor for a decade. The new deal with Chelsea is likely to be double that amount, with estimates suggesting it will be worth 60 million pounds ($74.61 million) per season.
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia believes Nike will support the club's growth into new markets and maintain its place among the world's elite football clubs. "We are delighted to have Nike as our new partner," she said. "Their global reach and deep understanding of the sport will be invaluable as we look to build on our success and compete at the highest level."
Despite a poor run of form last season that saw Chelsea fail to qualify for European football, the club has enjoyed some success in the past. Chelsea, owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, won the Premier League title in 2014-15.
As of the seventh game of the current season, Chelsea is seventh in the Premier League standings. The new kit sponsor for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 seasons is confirmed to be Nike, but there is no indication of a new kit producer for the upcoming season.
The new partnership with Nike is a significant step for Chelsea as they look to the future and continue to compete at the highest level of football.
