In the realm of post-political careers, George Osborne, the former UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, has been making waves, contrasting sharply with the struggles faced by his predecessor, David Cameron.

Osborne, who previously edited the Evening Standard and ventured into investment banking and podcasting, has seen more success than Cameron in his post-government endeavours. His latest achievement is a significant one, as he is now a partner at the high-end advisory firm Robey Warshaw.

Recently, US giant Evercore agreed to acquire Robey Warshaw for $196 million, a move that aims to strengthen Evercore's presence in Europe by combining its global reach with Robey Warshaw’s specialist advisory expertise and long-standing client relationships. However, the acquisition is not publicly reported to affect George Osborne's earnings directly.

Meanwhile, David Cameron's post-political career has been marked by controversy. His association with Greensill Capital ended in humiliation, and during the Covid crisis, he was reduced to texting Rishi Sunak, which was deemed an "error of judgement" by MPs.

In other business news, Games Workshop, a FTSE 100 company and City AM business of the year nominee, reported "pretty solid" cost management in its full-year trading update. However, the company disclosed a £12m write-down due to Donald Trump's trade policies and faced a delay in the construction of a new temporary car park due to a "cute looking pipstrelle bat".

In a different sector, Airwallex, a Singaporean fintech unicorn, plans to expand its local team and double the office footprint of its Fitzrovia office in the UK. To symbolize the role of perception in driving success, Airwallex has announced a 3D-printed sculpture of Lando Norris, McLaren F1 team driver, as a unique office fixture.
