Financial support of EUR 120,000 earmarked for accelerating the energy transition in the Upper Palatinate region, as announced in Regensburg.

The Upper Palatinate region in Germany is witnessing a significant shift towards sustainable energy as small and medium-sized municipalities are being assisted in their energy transition through the Energy Coaching Plus program. This initiative aims to help these municipalities reduce their carbon footprint, improve energy efficiency, and adopt renewable energy solutions.

The program provides a range of services to participating municipalities, including personalized energy consulting, support for energy efficiency measures, CO2 reduction strategies, renewable energy integration, funding and subsidy guidance, workshops, and training. Energy coaches offer tailored advice to meet each municipality's unique infrastructure and needs, helping to identify energy-saving opportunities and develop concrete and implementable proposals on topics such as district heating planning, photovoltaics, and wind energy.

Participating municipalities in the current funding round include Schwandorf, Schwarzach, and Schwarzenfeld in Landkreis Schwandorf; Ebermannsdorf, Ensdorf, and Sulzbach-Rosenberg in Landkreis Amberg-Sulzbach; Grafenwiesen and Willmering in Landkreis Cham; Neustadt a.d. Waldnaab, Parkstein, and Vorbach in Landkreis Neustadt a.d. Waldnaab; and Pielenhofen in Landkreis Regensburg.

In addition to consulting services worth up to 10,000 Euros per round, the program also offers public information events and advice on the introduction of a municipal energy management system. These events provide an opportunity for municipalities to learn more about the program and its benefits, as well as network with other participating municipalities.

The Energy Coaching Plus program is a valuable resource for Upper Palatinate municipalities, enabling them to transition towards sustainable energy use, meet climate targets, and reduce operational costs by leveraging expert knowledge and available technologies. For more specific and up-to-date information about the program, it is recommended to contact the regional energy agency or municipal planning offices in the Upper Palatinate region.
