FEVS cancelled: New survey replaces federal employee feedback in 2025

The Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) has been cancelled for 2025. In its place, an alternative survey led by the Partnership for Public Service will gather feedback from government workers in the United States. The change raises questions about data reliability and potential misuse by interest groups.

The new survey, overseen by an advisory board of academics and private sector experts, aims to fill the gap left by FEVS. However, its public link could leave it vulnerable to manipulation by bots or other bad actors. Some agencies might even restrict the use of its findings to avoid scrutiny from the executive branch.

The cancellation of FEVS marks a shift in how federal employee feedback is collected in the United States. The alternative survey offers a replacement but comes with risks, from data manipulation to political criticism. Agencies will need to assess its reliability before using the results for policy decisions.
