**Hydrotec Industrial Services Secures Planning Approval for Redevelopment Project**

Hydrotec Industrial Services, specialists in wastewater treatment, have secured planning consent to redevelop a redundant pig farm into office and storage spaces. The approval follows a planning appeal process handled by Antony and his experienced team, after the initial application was rejected by The East Riding of Yorkshire Council in summer 2023 due to councillor concerns about the potential impact on surrounding nature.

The Planning Inspector found that the proposed redevelopment complies with the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), which encourages development of rural enterprise. The NPPF, along with the East Riding Local Plan Strategy Document (ERLPSD), both promote the reuse of existing buildings and the erection of well-designed new buildings to support sustainable rural economies and protect the character of rural areas.

The redevelopment project is seen as a sustainable location for business uses, with the potential to support the local economy and provide an attractive workspace. The deal was secured by a national property consultancy, and Callum Hancox of Hydrotec Industrial Services expressed his pleasure with the approval of the planning application.

The ERLPSD allows for conversion of buildings in the countryside for economic development where proposals respect the surroundings. This approach aligns with the NPPF policy, which encourages the reuse of existing buildings for rural enterprise purposes, as this can contribute positively to the sustainability and viability of rural businesses.

The construction sector is expected to blossom in 2025, separate from the Hydrotec Industrial Services' redevelopment project. However, the project is considered crucial in meeting demand for storage and employment space, contributing to the ongoing growth of Hydrotec Industrial Services and the wider local economy.

In summary, the redevelopment project demonstrates the combined approach encouraged by the NPPF and ERLPSD, leveraging existing structures and ensuring new developments enhance rather than harm the rural environment, securing long-term sustainability and economic vitality in rural communities.

The redevelopment of Hydrotec Industrial Services' pig farm, approved despite initial rejection, complies with national and local policies that promote sustainable rural economies. The project can potentially support the local economy and real-estate industry, offering an attractive workspace with benefits extending to Hydrotec Industrial Services as well. As the construction sector prepares for growth in 2025, the redevelopment project is crucial in meeting demand for storage and employment space, further contributing to the wider local economy's growth.
