FAMOS Plus Project Boosts Vulnerable Families' Employment

The FAMOS plus project in County Steinfurt, funded by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the European Union, has been supporting families and children at risk of poverty and exclusion. Despite its significant impact, details about the involved institutions and their cooperation remain scarce.

The project, part of the 'Akti(F) plus - Active for Families and their Children' program, aims to improve living situations and social-economic participation. It promotes cooperation among various institutions to provide tailored support.

Two years into the project, WertArbeit Steinfurt and GEBA have been collaborating successfully. So far, 199 participants, mostly women (82%), have been advised and accompanied, along with their 557 children. Among them, 73% were long-term unemployed, 8% had disabilities, and 77% were of foreign origin. The project has placed 30% of participants in work, employment, or training.

The project's success rate is impressive, but it also faces challenges. Over three-quarters of dropouts required high support and were referred to other counseling centers and services.

The FAMOS plus project in County Steinfurt has been making strides in supporting vulnerable families and their children. With 30% of participants placed in work or training, the project's impact is clear. For more information, visit WertArbeit and GEBA locations, call 02551/694983, or visit www.famosplus.com.
