Experience the exhilaration as a Range Rover Sport conquers a downhill ski slope alongside the renowned driver, the Stig, in this spectacular video.
The Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR, a formidable competitor to the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, has proven its mettle in various extreme conditions, demonstrating its road-focused prowess.
In a thrilling turn of events, the Range Rover Sport made an appearance in the latest James Bond film, No Time To Die. But the vehicle's real-life adventures have been far from mere screen appearances.
This weekend, the Range Rover Sport SVR prototype will tackle the Goodwood hillclimb, a challenging course known for its variety of obstacles and adverse weather conditions. The prototype, revealed as the most powerful Land Rover ever, has already shown its ability to handle extreme conditions.
The Range Rover Sport has been tested on various terrains, from snow and ice to loose rock, mud, pitted asphalt, grass, and gravel. One such extreme test was the Inferno downhill ski race in Mürren, Switzerland, where professional skier Carlo Janka was at the wheel.
The Inferno downhill course, operational since 1928, is renowned for its difficulty. With a length of 2,964 yards and 9.25 miles, it presents a formidable challenge to even the most seasoned drivers. Ben Collins, the ex-Stig, completed the entire run in an impressive 21:36 minutes.
Collins described the Inferno downhill course as one of the hardest tests he's faced in his driving career. The Range Rover Sport, a stock model with a supercharged V8 engine and a roll cage, handled the course admirably, reinforcing Land Rover's claim that it builds vehicles unlike ordinary SUVs.
Land Rover also delivered behind-the-scenes footage of the stunts involving the Range Rover Sport in the film, adding to its on-screen appeal. Despite being a potential advertisement for the Range Rover Sport, the stunt was still impressive, showcasing the vehicle's ability to handle extreme conditions.
However, the name of the new, powerful, range-topping Range Rover Sport from the Special Operations division remains a mystery. As the Range Rover Sport continues to push the boundaries of what an SUV can do, we eagerly await the unveiling of this latest addition to the Land Rover family.
