Envision Opens World's Largest Green Hydrogen Plant
Envision Group has inaugurated the world's largest and most advanced green hydrogen and ammonia plant. The facility, located in China, reduces CO2 emissions and supports the decarbonization of maritime transport and fertilizer production.
The plant's integrated energy system uses predictive AI, battery storage, and weather modeling to balance wind and solar energy in real-time. It operates autonomously and off the conventional power grid, driven by artificial intelligence, solar, and wind energy. Two key elements for the energy transition are green hydrogen and green ammonia. Green hydrogen is produced through electrolysis powered by renewable energy but has complex transportation and storage. Green ammonia, derived from hydrogen, is easier to handle and is an ideal clean energy carrier for global trade. The plant has an annual production capacity of 320,000 tons of green ammonia, with plans to scale up to 1.5 million tons by 2028. Envision has created a model for clean energy plants that can be replicated in countries with abundant sun and wind, such as Chile, Australia, or Morocco.
Envision's green hydrogen and ammonia plant demonstrates the potential of clean energy technologies for reducing emissions and supporting global industries. The plant's innovative design and use of AI for energy balancing set a new standard for the energy transition. With plans to increase production capacity, the plant is poised to play a significant role in the global shift towards cleaner energy.
