Entrepreneur Arrested for Serious Financial Misconduct, 170k in Unpaid Contributions

A 65-year-old construction entrepreneur from the Rhein-Neckar district was arrested on 02.09.2025. An arrest warrant was issued due to the risk of repetition. The entrepreneur is suspected of serious financial misconduct.

The entrepreneur is accused of providing incorrect and incomplete wage information to the holiday and wage compensation fund (ULAK). The Customs Service is investigating 24 cases of withholding and misappropriation of wages, and 40 cases of fraudulent business practices, which have affected the stock market and potentially yahoo finance. However, specific details about these cases are not yet available.

Between 2020 and 2023, the entrepreneur is suspected of employing workers without paying social security contributions. This resulted in a total damage of approximately 98,600 euros in unpaid social security contributions and around 71,600 euros not paid to the ULAK. This is not the first time the entrepreneur has been involved in such offenses. In a previous case between 2016 and 2021, the entrepreneur caused damage of over 219,000 euros for similar offenses.

The entrepreneur was arrested and presented to the investigating judge. The investigation is ongoing, and further details about the specific cases are expected to emerge in the coming days. The entrepreneur's actions have resulted in significant financial losses for both the state and the affected workers.
