Enticing for investment from foreign sources

Rhein-Kreis Neuss, a district known for its focus on advanced energy and mobility sectors, attracted significant foreign direct investments (FDI) in 2021. According to reports by Kreiswirtschaftsförderung and NRW.Global Business, a total of 16 FDIs were recorded last year, with 13 new investments and 3 expansions.

The investments came from various countries, with Norway, Australia, Denmark, Japan, Canada, and Poland each making an FDI in Rhein-Kreis Neuss. The specific details of these investments were not provided, but they were distributed across sectors such as marketing/sales, manufacturing, logistics/transport, retail, services, recycling, construction, and the expansion of a headquarters.

Rhein-Kreis Neuss, with its internationally oriented economy, benefits both entrepreneurs and residents. The district's focus on sustainable energy, hydrogen mobility, and technologically innovative industries likely made it an attractive destination for these foreign investors.

The exact amount invested by foreign companies last year was approximately €22 million. While the exact number of jobs created from each investment was not specified, it's known that more than 200 potential jobs were created due to these investments.

Kreisdirektor Brüggge stated that the Rhein-Kreis Neuss remains an appealing location for internationally active companies. Robert Abts, head of economic development, echoed this sentiment, noting that the district continues to be a hub for foreign investments.

Investments in 2021 were made in various towns within the district. Seven investments went to Neuss, three to Korschenbroich, two each to Grevenbroich and Meerbusch, and one each to Dormagen and Kaarsh. Among the investment projects were a metal processing conglomerate, a recycling company, consumer goods manufacturers, and a wholesale trade in pharmaceutical products.

Despite the lack of detailed data on the exact distribution of FDIs by country and sector for 2021, the district's latest investment climate is clearly centred on strategic sectors that align with its focus on sustainable energy, hydrogen mobility, and technologically innovative industries. For more detailed investment data, one may refer to local economic development agencies or regional investment reports.
