Emirates Skywards Announces Changes to Points Transfer Policies and First-Class Bookings
Emirates Skywards, the loyalty program of Emirates and flydubai, has announced several changes to its points transfer policies. These changes include temporary pauses in transfers from certain partners like Bilt Rewards, American Express, and Chase, and a reduction in transfer rates from Citi. Additionally, first-class award bookings have been restricted to elite status members only.
From May 27 to June 19, 2025, Bilt Rewards will pause points transfers to Emirates Skywards. Similarly, American Express and Chase will also halt transfers from May 29 to June 30, 2025. These temporary suspensions aim to align with internal system upgrades.
Starting July 27, 2025, Citi's transfer ratio to Emirates Skywards will decrease by 20%. This change affects the value of points transferred from Citi to Emirates Skywards.
Emirates Skywards has also introduced a new restriction. First-class award bookings are now available exclusively to elite status members. This change took effect recently and aims to prioritise loyal customers.
Emirates Skywards members should note these changes in points transfer policies and award booking restrictions. The temporary pauses in transfers from Bilt Rewards, American Express, and Chase, as well as the reduction in Citi's transfer ratio, will impact members' ability to earn and redeem points. The restriction on first-class award bookings to elite status members may also affect travel plans.
