Honda's latest initiative to expand its charging network aims to provide a more extensive charging infrastructure for its electric vehicle (EV) customers. As part of this plan, Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX electric vehicle owners can now use Tesla Superchargers, thanks to a new charging adapter approved by Honda.

The official Honda adapter, a NACS-to-CCS DC fast-charging adapter, allows these CCS-equipped EVs to connect to Tesla’s North American Charging System (NACS) Superchargers, providing access to over 23,500 Supercharger stations across the U.S. [2][4]

The Honda-approved adapter, priced at $225 USD, is available at authorized Honda and Acura dealerships and online through the Honda DreamShop. It is specifically tested and approved by Honda for use on the Prologue and ZDX models only; using other versions or non-approved adapters may risk vehicle damage, potentially voiding the warranty. [2][3][4]

While alternative third-party adapters like the Lectron NACS-to-CCS adapter exist, priced around $130.99, they are not officially endorsed by Honda. [1]

Drivers of Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX electric vehicles, when charging at a Tesla station, require the Tesla app for the charging process. They can use their car's built-in Google Maps to find Supercharger locations. [2][4]

Honda's plan aims to provide around 100,000 fast-charging points for Honda and Acura drivers across North America by 2030. The networks that will be part of Honda's charging network include Tesla, EVgo, and the upcoming IONNA network. [2][4]

By 2030, Honda aims to provide access to around 100,000 fast-charging points across North America, making charging easier for its EV customers. Honda is also working towards integrating this process with its own apps and adding "plug-and-charge" functionality in the future. [2][4]

By expanding its charging network, Honda aims to reduce range anxiety for its EV customers, providing them with more charging options and enhancing convenience. [2][4]
