E-mobility Transition to Create Jobs, Europe's Green Future

Climate protection and economic prosperity are not at odds, as proven by studies on the e-mobility transition. The global phase-out of combustion engines, including diesel cars, is underway, and Europe is preparing for a greener future.

The European Commission's impact assessment and the National Platform for Electric Mobility both predict job growth with stricter CO limits and increased e-mobility uptake. The European Climate Foundation estimates up to 670,000 extra jobs with a 100% e-mobility transition.

However, job losses in the automobile sector are not solely due to environmental regulations. Automation and market trends also play significant roles. IG Metall studies, though not explicitly attributing job losses to specific companies, confirm this. National governments and the European Parliament are working together to develop solutions that support the Paris Agreement while ensuring a strong European economy.

The transition to e-mobility and stricter CO limits will not only help Europe meet its climate goals but also create jobs. With proper planning and support, the automotive sector can adapt to these changes and thrive in a low-emission future.
