Deutsche Telekom hikes DSL prices for older contracts by €2 monthly

Deutsche Telekom is raising prices for some of its older DSL customers. The change will add €2 to the monthly cost for certain contracts signed before April 2023. Affected users will see the increase take effect from 1 April 2026.

The price rise applies to customers on MagentaZuhause and Call & Surf tariffs, including MagentaZuhause L and Call & Surf Kompakt. These plans were all agreed before April 2023. The company cited higher network costs as the reason for the adjustment.

Customers receiving a price adjustment letter will have three months to respond. During this period, they can cancel their contract without penalty. For example, a monthly fee of €44.95 will rise to €46.95 under the new pricing.

The increase will apply from April 2026, adding €2 to the base monthly charge. Affected customers retain the option to leave their contract early if they choose. The change reflects Telekom's stated need to cover rising operational expenses.
