Deutsche Bahn's 2024 executive pay soars to €17.3 million amid leadership shake-up

Deutsche Bahn has revealed its 2024 executive pay figures, showing significant payouts to both outgoing and current board members. The total compensation for departing and incoming leaders reached around €17.3 million, with former CEO Richard Lutz receiving the largest share.

Richard Lutz, the company's former CEO, took home €5.5 million in total for 2024. His package included a fixed salary of €1.4 million, performance bonuses of €570,000, and a severance payment of €3.5 million.

Other departing executives collectively received €11.3 million in severance. Among them was Karin Dohm, the former CFO, who left after just four months in the role. For the current board, total earnings came to just under €3.7 million. New CEO Evelyn Palla earned €1.17 million, while CFO Martin Seiler received €1.22 million.

The figures highlight the high costs associated with leadership changes at Deutsche Bahn. With severance payments making up a large portion of the total, the company's 2024 executive compensation reflects both ongoing and transitional expenses.
