Dermasence bolsters leadership with new medical and strategic hires

Dermasence has expanded its team with two new appointments aimed at strengthening its strategic direction. Dr. Simone Presto joins as a medical advisor, bringing decades of experience from Beiersdorf. Meanwhile, Medicos Kosmetik, the parent company, has launched a new Transformation Office to guide future growth.

Dr. Simone Presto takes on the role of medical advisor at Dermasence after spending over 25 years at Beiersdorf. Her position will bridge product development, dermatology, and pharmacy, ensuring closer collaboration across these key areas.

Medicos Kosmetik has also created a new business unit, the Transformation Office, to secure the company's long-term success. Christian Mies-Mäkelä, formerly of Pierre Fabre, will lead the office after serving as Director of Marketing & Digital for pharmacy brands in Germany and Austria. He will work directly with Managing Director Philipp Beckmann to align strategic priorities. The Transformation Office's core tasks include consolidating strategic themes, uncovering growth opportunities, and driving corporate development. However, as of early 2026, no specific measures or goals have been implemented since Mies-Mäkelä only took charge in March.

The appointments of Dr. Presto and Mies-Mäkelä signal a push toward stronger medical expertise and strategic planning at Dermasence and Medicos Kosmetik. The Transformation Office's work will shape the company's future, though concrete actions remain in early stages.
