Joseph "Joe" Gagliardi, a native of San Jose, California, born on March 22, 1940, passed away on July 12th, 2025, in Gilbert, Arizona. Known for his significant contributions to the insurance industry and the sports sectors he served, Joe was a pioneer in insurance for Closed Circuit Boxing, Professional Boxing, and Youth Sports.

Born and raised in San Jose, Joe attended Willow Glen High School, class of 1958. He began his career as a local businessman and entrepreneur, starting with real estate ventures alongside his father. Together, they developed ranch land into apartments and various real estate projects at a young age.

Joe's passion for sports was evident as he became the former owner of the Modesto Reds and San Jose Missions semi-Professional Baseball teams. His expertise in the sports field was closely connected to boxing and youth sports, likely supporting the growth and safety of these sports through his insurance work.

In the insurance industry, Joe made a name for himself by working with several companies to create specialty insurance for Professional Boxing and Signal Insurance. His company, Gagliardi Brothers Insurance, was a forerunner in Youth and Professional Sports insurance.

Aside from his professional achievements, Joe was a family man at heart. His greatest accomplishments were his 6 children, 10 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson, whom he loved dearly. He was survived by his 6 children, grandchildren, great grandson, sister Shirley Gagliardi-Ruzzo, former wives Ginny Lico and Colleen Bucci, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his sports and business endeavours, Joe was actively involved with San Jose PAL and was a long-time resident of San Jose. Outside of work, he enjoyed playing Yahtzee, watching "The Godfather" and "Godfather II", old Westerns, and was a History buff.

Joe's life was marked by his dedication to the sports industry, particularly boxing and youth sports. His mentorship in the Sports Insurance field was instrumental in developing insurance products tailored to these specialized sports areas. He will be remembered for his notable contributions to both the insurance field and the sports sectors he served.
