Cyprus, Kuwait Strengthen Strategic Partnership with Upcoming Ministerial Meeting

Cyprus and Kuwait, both small states in regions of instability, share a history of foreign occupation and close ties. Dr. Kombos' upcoming meeting with the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister signals another step in strengthening their strategic partnership.

Cyprus is dedicated to boosting cooperation with Kuwait, both bilaterally and within the EU-GCC framework, to promote shared interests and regional stability. The two nations are working on agreements in security, culture, and water management for long-term cooperation.

A highlight of their partnership is the Amalthea humanitarian initiative, with Kuwait contributing around 700 tons of aid to Gaza. The first political consultations held in Kuwait in 2022 marked a significant milestone in their relations. Cyprus, committed to a two-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, supports peace and justice for both sides.

Cyprus offers a favorable business environment for Kuwaiti investment, with a strategic location, robust legal framework, and high-standard professional services. Recent progress in higher education, following Kuwait's recognition of Cypriot universities, paves the way for deeper academic cooperation.

Dr. Kombos' meeting with the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister underscores the strength and depth of Cypriot-Kuwaiti relations. With ongoing efforts in bilateral agreements and shared humanitarian initiatives, both nations look forward to a prosperous future together.
