Customs Inspection at Aachen Stadium Finds Wage, Benefit Fraud
The Main Customs Office Aachen recently conducted an inspection at the Aachen football stadium, scrutinising 66 employees and 28 employers. The investigation uncovered several irregularities, prompting further inquiries.
One employer was suspected of wage withholding and misappropriation due to unpaid collectively agreed minimum wages. Additionally, possible benefit fraud was suspected in another case where the start of employment was not reported to authorities.
Further investigations are pending for 15 employers to confirm if the collectively agreed minimum wage was paid. In another instance, a warning was issued for not carrying identification documents. Moreover, no immediate notifications were made to the pension insurance data center for 16 employees of 11 employers, or notifications were submitted too late.
The inspection revealed various irregularities that require further investigation. Employers and employees are urged to comply with minimum wage agreements and reporting requirements to prevent such issues in the future.
